Ignite your Filmmaking Future in 2025!

Welcome to our BFI Film Academy Short Course (North East), a prestigious programme in partnership with the British Film Institute, offering young people elite film training.

What to expect

Over 70 hours of free specialist workshops, guest speakers and hands-on filmmaking, participants master advanced filmmaking techniques (in cinematography, directing/producing and film design) to create a final film. Workshops and production dates run on selected weekends, led by industry professionals, using cutting-edge equipment. At the end of the course, students produce a complex short film with significant autonomy, to premiere at The Customs House in North Shields.
