KEEPING CHILDREN SAFE
Your child’s safety and wellbeing is our highest priority. We work hard to ensure a safe environment and suitable activities for young people, with effective consent and emergency procedures in place.
We employ only highly vetted (enhanced DBS certified) staff with suitable qualifications, who are trained in safeguarding and child protection.
Our operating processes meet school regulator OFSTED’s best practice, and all our policies are reviewed yearly.
Building Confidence
We offer a safe and positive learning environment where students feel free to express themselves and take risks without fear of being judged or rejected. We are inclusive and non-competitive. This can help young people develop a more positive self-image and build their confidence, leading to more effective learning and overall well-being.
By valuing young people as unique individuals, we can help them to support themselves, and build strong foundations for their future success.
Student Ownership
We want our students to develop their sense of agency and self belief, choosing for themselves what they create and what they learn. We provide opportunities across a range of learning activities, for young people to explore their own interests, develop new skills, and pursue their passions.
Student ownership empowers young people to take initiative, responsibility, and pride in their work.
Why Drama?
At the heart of drama is a study of meaning, and a search for truth. It’s about asking questions, and discovering answers for yourself.
Drama is inclusive, and collaborative. There is a place and a role for everyone, no matter what your skill, experience, or interests.
The creative and performing arts deliver essential life and work skills: communication, presentation, problem-solving, time management, teamwork, decision-making, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, self-care… to name a few!
