If you love art and design, we’d love you to join our art department. Whether it’s costume design or prop making, special effects makeup or set building, your work is what makes the movie come alive. You may not be the face of the film, but your vision and creativity will be seen in every frame of the films you make.
Ages : 8-15 years
Duration : 2 hours (2pm – 4pm)
Arts Award is a national portfolio-based qualification for children and young people, delivered across a variety of levels.
At each level, children and young people develop arts, leadership and communication skills.
Young people develop life skills (as well as transferable skills in education and employment), gain pathways into creative industries, and increase their enjoyment of the arts.
Young people can use any format – written, visual, audio, digital, 3D (or a mixture) – to create their Arts Award portfolio or ‘arts log’ demonstrating what they’ve learned. We will use the work the students will already be doing in their class and on their film shoots to provide evidence for their portfolio, so it will not intrude on students who don’t want to sign up, or create extra work.
We offer Bronze and Silver Awards for children from 11-25 years old.
Fees start at £50 for the Bronze award and this includes training, assessment, moderation and certificate. This is in addition to your ACT 2 CAM monthly fees, and can also be paid in instalments and through childcare vouchers.
Young people are experts in play, and research tells us that children often learn best when they are engaged in play.
We teach drama to develop social skills, communication skills, oracy, empathy and creativity. We also use drama as a vehicle to teach other subjects, such as history, languages, and citizenship.
Drama is a form of play that allows children to explore and experiment with the world around them in a way that is memorable and enjoyable. It provides a hands-on, active learning experience. It is an inclusive, motivating and engaging medium that can be used as a vehicle for effective learning in any subject across your curriculum.

If you want to start acting, and you want to act in films, the best way to begin is with actor training, and acting experience. With ACT 2 CAM, young people learn how to act, and how to be natural on screen; you make your own character, you create your own drama, and you star in your own films.
